From: Paul Morgan - Swansea - Monday, April 2 Re: The Gimp |

The only way to get him out is to campaign against him
whether at the Vetch or whilst their training.
Wolves did it years ago and it worked. He'll never get another job in football and he knows it. Thats why he'll stay until the bitter end to get his last pay day before going on the dole or become a double glazing saleman. |

When any team has a 3-0 away win you would expect their own
local press to have a field day saying how brilliantly their boys had
played, etc, etc. Never in my life have a seen a newspaper article
like the Bournemouth Daily Echo article featured in the Papertalk
section which seems to concentrate much more on how bad the Swans were
on Saturday which was probably the most significant feature of the
whole game.
The bit that really hurt was "The Swans were quite abysmal and even though Cyril was only taking part in a friendly penalty shootout against Cherry Bear, he showed more determination and desire than any player in a white shirt". Surely, there cannot be any more damning criticism of a professional. The worst thing is, it was true. Every football fan can take defeat if he knows his team did their best but there is not one who can stand a team that does not try. Last week I posted a message saying I though the points were there to be won. On this showing I will be surprised if we get another one. I will not be surprised if Oxford catch us. |

Here's an email posted this evening to the Swanmail mailing
list.
I thought it deserved a larger audience ! From A S Thomas ! ----------------------------- We're all as elated as the Mussolini family on National Piano Wire Thursday. A catalogue of reminders why we really wanted to rub everyone's noses in the proverbials -hand wringing in a basin of sh*t:-
1. "Premiership football in 5 Years."
I hope Mr McClure, Liar-bility Lewis and Hollins all read that - THEN LEAVE ! |

From: Billy Barcelona - Barcelona - Monday, April 2 Re: The horror |

After speaking to some mates Sunday night and reading
messages on the Swansea list it sounded dreadful.
Then I read the Bournemouth Daily News report in Press Cuttings. I think the writer summed it up perfectly. "Only last week, singer Tom Jones was rumoured to have tabled a £7m bid for the club, while other interested parties are said to include Chris Evans, Bonnie Tyler, Harry Secombe and Colonel Qaddafi. There is no doubt Swansea are quite simply a shambles both on and off the pitch and Cherries are unlikely to find such easy pickings as these during their remaining eight games." |

From: Adam Edwards - pembrokeshire - Monday, April 2 Re: My neck hurts |

The problem with the swans at the moment isn't the lack of
effort from the players it's Hollins, as we all can obviously see.
Our team consists of two very skillful ball playing Frenchmen in the
midfield and two strikers who require the ball at their feet to score,
or in Savarese' case just a sniff of a chance. With this set up,
quick passing to feet should reap it's own rewards, but what do we see
in the match, long aimless balls bypassing Fabiano and Romo being
headed away by their centre backs, who are twice the size of our
little strikers, the ball either falls to the opposition or Cusack
loops an even more aimless high ball back to their defenders who head
it back to their keeper.
That happened about 50 times during the match, if that isn't Hollins fault then I don't know who's it is, it's obviously what he's told them to do, "knock it long and pick up the pieces" was the game plan. Surely this cannot be disputed by anyone who had the misfortune to pay a tenner to watch that s@*t. And can I say that I've seen Fabiano a few times now and had he been in the Bournemouth team with the time that we gave them the score would have been about 6-0. |

From: Lee - Terforest - Monday, April 2 Re: Managers |

So, if Hollins went today who would you like to see down the
Vetch? It's not as easy as it seems. Please no Leighton James votes...
(I know Gary that you don't want any voting polls on here but just out of interest I'd like to see who the fans want) |

I took my 2 oldest sons to watch the Swans for their first
time on saturday and i was ashamed to say that this is the team i
support.
Its no wonder the youngsters want to support english clubs when they only got rubbish like that to watch down here. there is only a hand full of players who got the will to win at the vetch. You can watch players with more grit and determanation up paradise park on a sunday afternoon than down the vetch. hollins has got to go to give the next manager a little extra time with the players to win promotion back up next season. p.s. keep up the good work THE SWANS FANS PITY THE MANAGMENT ;BOARD;AND SOME OF THE PLAYERS HAD YOUR COMMITMENT |

From: Thornbury Jack - Gloucester - Monday, April 2 Re: Rob in Milk Town, get a life |

Those with real conviction knew that Hollins should have
gone last season when those who were brave enough stood up and were
counted. The sad thing is that a few wins and everyone thought it was
JOHNNY HOLLINS BARMY ARMY time. Oh how short sighted of you all, he
should have gone when we lost at Oldham in the FA Cup, but NO the
short sighted ones wanted him to stay.
You are reaping the rewards of stupidity, next time maybe you will listen. The majority of real fans who got soaked at Halifax last season didn't want him, this site didn't want him, the MAGS didn't want him, proper fans didn't want him. Only the likes of the irresponsible wyn evans, and bum sucking freeloaders wanted to keep him so they could get free tickets and lick the ****** of the likes of Mike Lewis ( a real footballing disaster ) Shame on you all, we now look at the third division and for all of you who dared sing that idiot Hollins name. YOU ARE TO BLAME. Accept it, admit it and redress the balance. |

From: LIFE LONG JACK - PORT TALBOT - Monday, April 2 Re: JOHN HOLLINS M.B.E. |
|
saw john hollins on soccer sunday i have never heard a swans
manager blame the fans for the result before he said that the fans
were not getting behind the team and that is why they lost 3-0 i was
at the game on saturday and the north bank were once again singing
they hearts out again until it was 2-0 and we did not look like
putting the ball in the back of the net as in any game when the home
team go down 2-0 the ground goes dead so john i have one thing to tell
you never spit at the jacks because the jacks will come back at you so
beware.
p.s i did have respect for you before i saw soccer sunday.......... |
