From: Adrian - Sevenoaks Kent - Friday, April 6 Re: Team Performance |
| Having watched our performance at Colchester, where we looked a side with possibilities in the first half and fell away having reorganised a couple of times during the second half, I think it is fair to say that we failed to adapt to the pattern of the game. In the first half Fabiano consistently developed openings and retained possession particularly outwide, Watkin and Gio played the same role with Gio more technically equipped to contibute. The back four were not protected by a midfield where Cusack in particular was completely outpaced. The defence had a few wake up calls before conceding a poorly defended goal. With more energy box to box in midfield and more variety up front, Roberts wide and Fabiano inside for example, we could have cut down on space in front of our defence and moved their defenders around a lot more. Whilst we looked to increase our attacking options in the second half we continually weakened the protection at the back, the very thing we were so good at last year. |

CAN ANYONE HELP OUR AILING CLUB????
What a time we are having! Phil Sumbler indicated in his book that to be a supporter of our club you have to have nerves of steel - expect the unexpected - promotion one season - relegation the next. As I have said on this site many a time - having supported the Swans over the last 23+ years I can vindicate Phils comments. Still...this season was to be expected. I did say at the beginning of the season that if we did not spend any money we would be back down faster than light. How right was I? I wanted to be wrong - but as we stand today we are likely to finish bottom - or one off if we are lucky. Poor JH! Well I have supported him over his managership. Now it is time for him to go and for the club to find a buyer. This time we need a buyer who is willing to invest - not only in the stadium and back room staff but most importantly the players. I can't believe we have not spent any money this season and very little over the last 3 years. Ninth Floor have no continued interest in our club -that is made clear by the apparent lack of spendingf on new players. They also have their own concerns - survivial in a very volatile financial market place. My final say is...I will continue to support (as I have done for many a year) my club through all its turmoils and will also be proud to be a 'Jack'. |

From: Stuart - Brynmill - Friday, April 6 Re: Stephen |
| Gary will not want us to turn this into a ding dong and I dislike dissecting individual players, but the point of my posting was really J.H.s inability to manage players and how they can deteriorate under his "guidance". I did mention that Matthew was voted player of the year in the FIRST division a few seasons back so he is not merely 3rd division material, under the right manager he is a capable player. I too hope that J.H. is gone by next season and the fresh start will boost the morale of players and supporters alike. |

From: Ian Martin - Fforetfach - Friday, April 6 Re: Hollins to stay |
| I am just as sick as the next man when it comes to the swans going down but even if we do sack Hollins who else is there to replace him? My opinion of Hollins is average but we are going down to the 3rd division whether we like to admit it or not, Keep Hollins as a manager for another season because he has got us out of the 3rd division once before and I am sure he can do it once again. |

From: MR JACK - SIHE - Friday, April 6 Re: HOLLINS |
| john hollins is making a big mistake keeping on about how we can stay up. its clear we are down to everyone and i believe his attitude is just putting more pressure on the players who are allready underachieving. if hollins started adopting the attitude of "we are allready down lets just go out and play" then perhaps the players would be less tentative and heads wouldnt drop so easily. whatever happens - its too late now. hollins out, mcclure out, lewis out. |
