From: Tom Randall - Arsley - Monday, April 30 Re: Contracts |
| Scanned the guest book and other sites over the past weeks, and note differing opinions on who was responsible for the managers contract. If we cast our minds back to the flotation, the contracts put together for the likes of Hollins, Lewis, Burgess etc. would have been grossly enhanced in order to boost up the prospectus to impress the City. This would have been on behalf of Ninth Floor plc. From a press cutting referring to Mike Lewis and his radio statement on Easter Monday, he stated "John Hollins is under contract to Ninth Floor and the company will honour that contract." Seems pretty clear who negotiated the contracts and their duration. |

| First of all this is to the women who said it was not John Hollins fault that we were relagated???????????? Then who's fault was it then? You can lay 50% of the blame on the players but we do have a talented squad and John Hollins has made some stupid decsions this season which make me think how the hell was he a football manager in the first place.Yes we won the league under hollins but it was mostly down to the players, the defence picked it self so did the midfleid, the only decsions john hollins had to make was to change the stirkers who did'nt score goals anyway. Most swans fans will agree with me.I was talking to my freind today and we both think there should be a hollins out protest at the match tomorrow. For those who are going bring a hollins out poster so we can stick them to the back of the north bank and show how we feal. Knowing Hollins he will leave Roberts go without a fight. |

It seems like ages since I last posted on this guestbook. To be
honest, this season has drained so much from me that I just haven't been able to
sum up the energy to write anything but with the season only a week away from
finishing it seems time to catch up a little bit. After all, most of us will be
here next season but with luck the idiots in charge won't be.
First off to Steve Jones. All the very best with your career wherever it's next stop may be. I know this is one man who never wanted to leave Swansea City but was left with little option. a la Martin Thomas really. If I was really cynical I would say it was because Steve Jones was a friend of the MAGS - wonder how much truth there was in that one? On to Mr Hollins. I find it unbelievable that people can support a manager who has steered his team to 7 league wins in 44 games. Most managers would have been sacked long ago but this man survives, not because he's good but because he is reaping the benefits of 'the job for life' that Mr Hamer felt he deserved last summer. Hmmm, now there's a lack of wisdom for you. Last season we went up because of the defensive unit of Rog, Jonah, Frankie, Boundy and Smudger. Simple as that. This season they are not as strong and as a 5-man unit have played together just 8 times. And when the defence isn't there, the tactical naivety of the manager is shown up. Big style. No respect from most of his staff I believe and even those closest to him are rumoured to be in despair. His time is up - thanks for a 3rd division championship John, your services are no longer needed as it means nothing any more. Lewis and McClure. Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber would be a better name for them. One is never here and the other takes money out of Swansea City faster than we can put it in in gate money etc. How are they going to survive when the (dwindling) crowds aren't there during the summer. From what I've heard they won't. This football club will be in administration during the summer and we have to hope that someone comes in and takes it off their hands. They are taking the club for every penny that we have. It has got to the stage when I hope we don't win the FAW Cup as it just lines their pockets for them. A wasted 3 years in the history of Swansea City. Made more painful, not by Cardiff's promotion, but by Rotherham's second successive promotion - done on the back of a £200k outlay. Amazing what ambition can do. Something that McClure and Lewis wouldn't have a clue on. If anyone can enlighten me as to what Lewis does to command his massive salary then I would be very interested to hear it. Where is the club better off from his input. He was bought in to look after the commercial side and sneakily built his way up to MD of the club. Blimey charley, that's a career path for you. Two games to go and, only because I'll have a season ticket, I'll see them both. Along with many many others, I wouldn't pay to watch it any more. It's dismal and painful. There are a few players that would die for the shirt. No doubt Hollins would like to see the back of them. Under instruction from the dynamic duo of course. "Sell the best assets John and we may be here in August" is the line likely to come out of the boardroom. Who will be next? I lost count of the number of 'insiders' who swear that it's Roger. What a mess. HOLLINS, LEWIS, MCCLURE - ALL OUT AND IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER PLEASE. JUST SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. |

So the guy who ripped the sign down is a "nazi hooligan" in your
words? What a gem you stupid boy. Hope he sues you. The bloke was standing
behind me when the sign went up and he was not a happy bunny. We went down to
Oxford to show the team that they still have support despite this season's
performance, most people that I spoke to would love to see Hollins go as well.
With all of the other sh*t that the players have had to put up with this season
it was bang of order to have them running out to a sign like that and I for one
was ashamed to see it there. Fair play to the lad for having the courage of his
convictions.
You are probably one off the people who writes in regularly banging on about Ulster, BNP etc, if someone put one of those flags up at an away game and you disagreed with the sentiment would you go and rip it down? I doubt it. Dont tarnish us all with your generalisations, you haven't got a clue what you are talking about. Sitting behind your computer chucking words like "nazi" and "hooligan" about really doesn't do anything for our club and is pretty spineless IMO. Really constructive when we are looking for new owners. Nuff said? |

Ive been thinking, Hollins seems at home with the youngsters at the
club,
apart from Savarese the players hes brought in are all youngsters. This means
that he cant be comfortable dealing with more senior pros. which must be true
because he has got rid of Thomas and Jones, quarrelled with Bound, Cusack and
Freestone - anyone who disagrees with him. Why doesnt he p**s off back to the
youth team or reserves at QPR.
The club wont be sold so long as hes here and Lewis for that matter. |

From: Steve Godrich (MrPessimism) - Stevenage - Monday, April 30 Re: Miss Russell's comment |
| In response, no Hollins wasn't playing but the players were playing to his game plan (if he actually used one). In a game of chess, the pieces are controlled via the player. In football, it varies slightly as the pieces have self control but they still follow the game plan from the manager. If the tactics and gameplan are inadequate, the team underperform. Good players or bad, it makes no difference. McClure out for killing a club, Lewis out for making us a laughing stock, and Hollins out for allowing the team to deteriorate and not having the backbone to stand up for himself. |
