Kevin Amankwaah
Profile provided by Andrew Thomas
Signed from Yeovil for over £200,000 late last summer, and mde his debut in the friendly at Exeter City. Kevin started his career at Bristol City but left Ashton Gate for Cheltenham Town following a serious neck injury.
An athletic, pacy full back who likes to get involved in attacking moves down the right flank, he sometimes is accused of being frail defensively, although this may be explained to an extent by his tendency to get forward. Will face competition for his place from both Alan Tate and Angel Rangel this season.
Kevin has now firmly established himself as having the toughest surname to spell at the club!
2006/2007
Profile provided by Andrew Thomas
Tall defender signed for over £200,000 from Yeovil town in July, following a career at Bristol City, Yeovil and Cheltenham Town. It looked as if his career was over 4 years ago, when he was involved in a horrific car crash on the M5 along with three other players in which he broke his neck.
It's a tribute to his perseverance that he worked his way back to full fitness at Ashton Gate, although he was soon to move to Cheltenham.
Kevin prefers to play at Right back, but is also happy to fill in at Centre Half if needed, and has looked comfortable in the pre season games in which he has figured.
