Leon Knight
Profile provided by Andrew Thomas
Signed for £125,000 from Brighton on an 18 mont contract , Leon had a dream debut in a home match against MK Don'ts. Leon grabbed a hat-trick and immediately made himself a fans favourite.
Electric pace, with excellent ball skills and trickery, Leon is a real handful for defenders at this level, and this was confirmed with his return of 10 League goals in 13 starts.
It was a spectacular brace of goals from Leon in the play off semi final, second leg that took the Swans through to the final against Barnsley, which ensured that he was to partner Rory Fallon in the final. His vein of form has continued through the summer and the pre season friendlies, so great things are expected of Leon in the forthcoming season.
Leon says he misses his time on the south coast and his stay there is fondly remembered by thousands of Brighton fans, as well as their manager, Mark McGhee.
2005/2006
Leon began his Career as a trainee at Chelsea making only 1 substitute appearance for The Blues. He played most of his football on loan at QPR, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday and finally Brighton, before making a permanent, £100,000 to The Seagulls.
The 23 year old is said to be a player of Premiership quality who has superb pace, and an exceptional goal scoring ability. He also made appearances for the Under 17, 18, 19 and 20 England International sides.
Leon has signed a deal keeping him at the club until 2008 after passing a medical, for a fee of £125,000. There is also said to be a sell on clause for the highly rated striker.
