Mark Gower
A predominantly right-footed midfielder who can play on either flank. Mark began his career at Tottenham, where he was a member of the League Cup winning squad in 98/99.
Gower then went out on loan to Motherwell where he scored his first senior goal, before joining Barnet for £32,500 in January 2001.
He went on to make almost 100 appearances for the Bees scoring 16 goals during in his 2 and a half seasons at Underhill.
Southend paid £25,000 for the services of Gower in July 2003, and it proved to be a very successful addition as Gower played an important part in the clubs 2 successive promotions from League 2 to the Championship which was confirmed when Southend drew 2 - 2 at the Liberty Stadium.
Freddy Eastwood was taking all the plaudits during the Shrimpers relegation season from the second tier, but Gower also made his mark scoring 10 goals from midfield.
Mark has signed for the Swans on a long-term performance related contract after turning down a new deal at Roots Hall.
