Ferrie Bodde told the dutch website vi.nl today that he was surprised by the things Sousa said. Bodde says he agreed with SCFC to return to the club wednesday. He is still recovering from his injury in Holland. Bodde's guess is that the agreement with the club about his return hasn't reached Sousa and he sais that this is no more than a misunderstanding.

Furthermore he states that his respect for the club is too big to willingly start an argument. "I'm for ever greatful that SCFC gave me the oppertunity to play in England and I've always been loyal to the club, despite offers from Derby County. My teammates also told me that they have no doubt concerning my loyalty towards them and the club."

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Robert - Jack Army Land

If Bodde is going then we need to sign a midfielder who can score goals.

How about Jason Koumas?

Received ... 6---0-2009 - babylon_jack - Pencoed

De Sousa had a meeting with the players yesterday after the first training session. We all know he is not happy with Bodde. He has told the others he only wants players who are 100% behind him and the club. He will sell anyone who does not tow the party line. He has slaughtered Bodde he did not even have the common decency to call his manager to inform him of his absence.

Sell Bodde take the money...fed up with his childish behaviour....he should remember the swans made him!!!!

Sell Scotland...his age is against him...he deserves a chance at the big time now.

Keep Rangel....we cannot afford to lose him.

Cant wait to see who De Sousa brings in...we have the cash!!

End of rant.....c'mon the jacks!!!

Received ... 6---0-2009 - KEN - Swansea

Have some faith in Paulo, If we loose 5 key players, we get a nice lump of cash for Paulo to bring in the players that he feels can do the job.
Ok not a blank carvers but a vision with strong foundations, and a group of players who are used to playing the continental way. Paulo must have some great contacts around the world, and with Swansea City getting noticed even outside the UK, undoubtedly many up and coming European footballers will jump at the opportunity of getting a foothold on the UK stage.
Martinez managed to draw European players to Swansea, and his transfer budget would not have been anywhere near as healthy as Paulo’s when the fund start coming in from the sale of any players leaving us.
I am sure that we will soon get players equally as good as those who leave.
Onwards and upwards, Can’t wait for the new season supporting the Swans and every team that plays against Wigan.

We're over the moon with the new appointments. If somebody had said 8-9 years ago during the Kevin Cullis fortnight from hell, that we would be in the first division, in a stunning 20,000 seater stadium, playing beautiful football with Paulo Sousa at the helm........ I'd have driven you up Cefn Coed myself. The board are doing a great job.

Rumour - Gower,Orlandi and Butler to leave, Shaun Mcdonald to go out on loan. Influx of quality wingers

Received ... 6---0-2009 - pete - swansea

whatever we sell bodde for if we do, 50% has to go to den haag. so **** what he wants to do. only let him go if the price is really right. we coped without him last year. 2mil for scotland would be good business, as long as we pump it back in. look at the strikers we could buy with 2 mil!

Butler will go to either Norwich, Leeds or Leicester. All clubs are offering him twice the money he's on at Swans! I hear this from his sisters BF! Good luck to Sousa, I think he'll prove a great manager.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Matt - Sandfields

Not the usual moan, players or far reaching rumours ...Our Club has now unveiled Paulo Sousa as RM's replacement - however, it would be nice to see it on the Clubs official website, following his appointment and positive words. Its great to have SCFC.co.uk, BBCi, total football etc. I for one always look at the Clubs official website, seens it an official appointment, a top bloke by the sounds of things, more people around the world and Europe would look for the main web first, if you get what im saying !

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Matt - Sandfields

Paulo Sousa, mentioned 'dreams' in his statement, which prompted me to write this. Every player has a dream to better themselves etc, one of the 1st couple of player statements after RM leaving - was Ferrie Bodde, im really looking forward to new season with the Swans and his fitness etc, now weeks later he wants to leave, round 1, 2 and 3with Derby now round 5 with Bolton. Dont say passionate things about our Club and do the opposite - RM did. If you want to go, fine, do it the right way. I dont know ....

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Matt - Sandfields

Every Negative becomes a positive, eventually ...
I was gutted when Jan Molby left, over the years, Manager's have come and gone, eleven or so in last 14years. My point - RM has gone, gutted come annoyed etc, although SCFC is now more globally aware and reckonized and El Gaffer has also increased the valuation on players, from some shrewd buying. So lets get behind OUR CLUB and start another new era and platform with Sousa, see where it puts us on the global map, our fortunes and our dreams.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Matt - Sandfields

I must say over the last few dark weeks, a massive thanks, really, to Huw Jenkins, for doing his utmost, been firm, been our spokesman with honesty, doing the best for the crest of the Club. Not bad for a Chairman who i undertand is part-time and not on the payroll. Now could you imagine if good old 'Dougie Sharpe' was still 'ere, he would be rubbing his hands all the way, god bless him lol. So a big Yahoo to Huw Jenkins everybody ....

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Alfiejack - Neath

Not a Rumour BUT FACT just seen paulo sousa and bruno oliveira dinking outside the la parilla with four young european looking lads 20.30pm then a man in a black bmw drove up and stop got out and started talking to them before they all went inside for a meal all the lads looked like football players and all well dressed i did not ask any question as i had my chelsea top on sorry

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Robert - Jack Army Land

Bodde and Scotland could be going but only for the right price.

Scotland to Burnley, Fulham or Wigan from 2 to 3 million.

Bodde to Bolton for 5 million.

It would be sad if we lose them but 7 or 8 million can build a stronger squad to get us in to the Premiership any time soon.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - SWAN123 - swansea

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Skippy - pussers grey

Mid table! because scotland and gomez are gone?
come on, Paulo is bound to bring in players. Scotland won't be missed by me and Gomez can and will be replaced, and i wish people would stop posting rubbish rumuors like listing every player and clubs they are going to. Prately to QPR? Be lucky if one of those transfers happen.
Can't wait for the season and i'm saying swans in prem within 3 years if nobody shits on us again.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - jack - neath

why are everyone giving roberto abuse! yes im as gutted as anyone that he left but he has left for a club that he's equally if not more fond of in his heart.
Roberto did wonders here in the 2 and a half seasons he was managing us, it shows how quickly people forget this!
GROW UP and stop slagging of one of the best manager in the history of the club who was always clear going to move on to the premier league!
as for roberto taking all our players he said 'i will only take interest if other clubs are taking interest.' burnley have bid for JS and roberto obviously rates him because he signed him!!!
rant over...

Received ... 6---0-2009 - tweetyboy - clase/llandovery

well at last its over a new man in charge and acording to him hes got a free rein what to do. well i hope he has the cash to do it because a club thats been going as long as us has a record fee of £400, 000 WE GOT TO DOUBLE THAT TO GET THE PLAYERS WE NEED TO CHALLENGE NEXT SEASON. i hope H.J.will back his and our ambitions

Has Sousa signed yet? Heard that a press conference was scheduled for today (Getting a bit nervous now in case everything backfires)
Hope HJ has not thrown all his eggs in one basket!
Gotta say that I am getting more and more unimpressed with how RM is going about his business now he's gone to Wigan. Very hypocritical is my view of him.
Gutted he left but kinda understand his reasons for going to Wigan (Only cause they are in the Prem), however coming back to raid our players after breaking up the backroom staff is really not on. If the rumours are true about Scotland, Bodde and Rangel then first things first put a block on anymore transfers out until a manager is appointed or the position is going to be less attractive if the key players are gone.
If Sousa is appointed the first job is to appoint a solid backroom staff with the experience etc, set a foundation then retain as much of the playing staff as possible then re-build the squad in key areas using some of the RM compo.
Realistically we need to be aiming for a mid table finish next season with the current crop of players it's up to the manager whoever that may be to improve of expectation.

As far transfer targets we really need to be looking to strenghten in key positions - First priority being a keeper!
De Vries isn't exactly linked with anyone so far and hasn;t done a bad job.
If we are resigned to selling Bodde, Rangel and Scotland then nothing less than 10 million for them in total.

looks like scotland doesnt wants to stay but its unsure where he's going yet. RM valued him at 2 million plus n i dont think he's willing to pay that, what a prat he has become. Is there anybody else you want us to sack so they can go join Wigan?

Received ... 6---0-2009 - deano - swansea

Scotland to wigan, Bodde to Wigan in January, Angel Rangel staying unless Man City make offer. Wigan to rebuild on a lower budget, Whelan to give him time to build new team on the cheap disaster for relegation, off to the bookies for a bet.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Harry Palmer - at a funeral in berlin

JS09 accompanied Richie Evans up to Greater (greater than what?) Manchester on the weekend! Was that as chauffeur? was he there to see some of his old muckers from SCFC, or was he looking up an old friend from Perthshire? There are no answers to these, or many other questions on JS09 in the Ipcress File, which will self destruct in 5 seconds.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - anon - swansea

Not a rumour, dont think Sousa would have applied if he had no intention of taking the job. There are obviously other things that need to be sorted before he signs. Contracts need to be looked at and staff etc, so would not think he would have signed straight after his interview.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - cefneithinjack - crosshands

BABYLON - where's your head at?????
HJ would not have announced Paulo as RM replacement if there was'nt a firm acceptance - why would he close the door on all the other candidates? - If you must have a rant and try to stur things up - go and support CCFC! - as they listen to all sorts of rubbish!

Paulo is back home to sort out personal issues which he needs to undertake and put in place before he moves to another country. having already missed an opportunity to manage in the UK due to QPR's internal wrangles - what type of message do you think it would send every chairman in football if Paulo's wife made the decissions? - Get a grip - the man is coming - he has a point to prove and his drive to succeed will be Swansea's cherry on the cake come next May! - Come on guys think the issues through first!
Jacks for ever!

I'm really not sure if anybody has noticed but Sousa has not put pen to paper!!! Given RM debacle we cannot take anyones word. This gentlemans agreement is not worth jack!! Why would he give his word and not sign on the dotted line. He has to speak to his Mrs. Come on guys we have all been there...she can put a massive spanner in the works!!!

I dont think HJ should have said a word until Sousa paw print was dry on the contract. Where does that leave us if he does not sign...aparrently Poyet is fuming with HJ.

Am very excited about the verbal agreement with Paulo Sousa. He ticks all of the right boxes for potential success with us.
My Portuguese Colleagues tell me though, that it isn't a done deal.
Paulo's Wife is one of the top TV Celebrities in Portugal and that the pair of them are really high up the 'A' List, working the circuit. A bit like the Portuguese equivalent of Posh and Becks.
She was happy with him at QPR, commuting back and for to London for the Charity Do's etc.
None of the Portuguese think that she will be prepared to hike it down to Swansea.
Hope that they are wrong.

my concern in this saga is

no physio
no keeper coach
1 week to training
then on tour
lets get behind Sousa
are we getting Anderson
is Scotland going if so lets get some money for him so we can buy
and the Rangel saga will start soon im sure Wigan will ask someone to make a bid then they will enter [not too hard to work out]
I know we have been used big time by the likes of Dave Whelan maybe he planned this with martinez a long time ago by saying get into management sort out your staff and imports for 2 years at no big expense to Wigan then bring all the so called good ones with you [Im on a rant again]
the onle good thing is we still have a great team and a few new good players lets move on

A product of FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol's youth ranks, Gómez made his professional debuts with the latter, on March 23, 2008, in a 0-4 defeat at Real Murcia. On June 6, it was confirmed he signed for Swansea City on a one-year loan, with teammate Albert Serrán also making the move, on a permanent deal.

Here it is, from wikepedia

On 23 September 2008, Gómez scored the winning goal against rivals Cardiff City, in the first South Wales derby for seven years.

Gómez finished the season with 14 goals in all competitions, and returned to Espanyol, being immediately sold to Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic, where he reunited with former Swansea boss, countryman Roberto Martínez.[1

Sousa to be named manager obviously,he will bring in decent staff with him, also he has strong contacts abroad as in real madrid could get the youngsters on loan. he plays football same sort of style as roberto which is good. scotland will leave for Burnley for a disgraceful price of a million!! Dobbie is there already, Rickie Lambert or Andy Bishop to come partner dobbie if JS9 leaves. Mikalouinas to come in also after a long wait. and also as we all know OTJ to norwich for 250k!!!! i wudv token that any day. swans to use the money as wages for Paul Anderson whom the swans have had a 600k bid accepted but he wants a lot of money soo. in all i think that obviously wudv been great to keep Martinez, but the future looks bright with new staff and players.

P.S (refering to comment below) gomez has gone!

Well Swans , rumour Martinez was not liked by your current players and was not liked by players when he was a player at your club & others as he was known for Grassing up players to the Chairman of the clubs he played at. ( Heard from Ex Player ) FACT. Sorry Rumours up here were not true about Coleman going back to Swans , so we still have him.. The only thing you need to be aware is that the Portuguese hate the Spansish.. you heard it hear first a clear out of anything Spanish..Also Portugeuse are our oldest allies in Europe,In will come some good young POGS...AND MAYBEE THE ODD YOUNG Brazilian... So I would be happy if I was a Swan. Gutted for Gary Speed ... he was your future.. good luck next year and you still have a squad that can get to the play offs.... 1st 10 games crucial...

Apparently Jordi Gomez is set to join Martinez at Wigan.

I swear I'am not lying. I'am not 100% sure yet but if you go on Jordi Gomez's encyclopedia profile it says he's already a Wigan player.

But we will wait and see.

No worries though hopefully we will still have Allen, Britton, Prately and Bodde to choose from this season.

Yuo say bout LT kissing the badge then leaving for money, he took a drop in wages and turned down a big offer in wages to stay reason he left was he was 30,we missed out on the playoffs, he signs for bristol and probably playes in one of the biggest game of anyones career the championship play off final. we got a mill for him and improved the sqaud even if they were on a loan his fee probably payed the loan fee and the wages of the loan signings.i think if leon B, tate, pratley all would of been the sameage and had that offer i think they all would of gone. you cant knock someone for wanting to better their career, you want to play at the top level you can or work at the best/top level u can and thats what roberto/lt has done. blame sbragia for RM leaving as if he didnt resign, we might not be saying bye to him. but hes put swansea on the map in europe, players will want to come here also maangers he got us playing good football and a hard team to beat. so thank you RM and good luck at wigan hopefully we will see you back here in the future to give you a send off you deserve.
for me id bring tosh and roy evans in or evans with speed working under him learning his trade that way.i just hope we dotn see alot of players leaving before a new man comes in.

I must state - enough is enough!!!! The Swans we see today is contributed to the foundations put down by Brian Flynn, then Kenny added key players (sadly he played the wrong type of football to make them effective) - then Roberto added panache and polish to the squad together with continental flair. Roberto had the wisdom to see the inner skills of our players and has got them firstly playing as a team and secondly believing they can achieve.

Roberto has moved on as players do - how many have kissed the shirt and walked for the £pound (Mr LT). We have a very sort after squad, we need a manager to take us further forward and gel the squad and freshen the dressing room without breaking the team core and hard work/time already invested.

Mr Palmer - is not our man, Mr Speed - has tried to cover his options, therefore may fear failure, Yet Mr Poyet has shown he was the brains behind the Wise/Poyet partnership from the success and playing manner both Swindon and Leeds displayed under their management. Gus has the continental attitute to take our club forward and my 'man in the know' who alerted me to RM possible departure a week before any news broke - tells me Gus is likely to be appointed by Monday next week. There has been alot of debate which helps us all get through post season - now we all should focus on how we grow from here - up the swans!!!!!

This isn't a rumour, just an observation. Has anyone seen the new fixture list for 2009/2010? Flamin' Nora, that must be the most formidable Championship line-up of teams since the new league structure came in. I think that the opportunity to see really good quality football in Swansea has never been better.I really can't see an easy match amongst that line-up.Three big teams coimg down, three really aggressive and talented teams coming up - can't wait for the ref to blow that first whistle.Bring em on. By the weekend, with a new gaffer in place, hopefully, the preparations can begin.I just can't bloody wait!

Martin Morgan is an astute business man and would not be giving away £5m out of the goodness of his heart, if you borrow 5 you pay back 8 FACT!! HJ and his board are doing a great job of laying the foundations for a big future the correct way, look where previous big spenders from past few years are in the leagues...Reading, Forest, Leeds, Southampton, Newcastle, Boro, QPR, Charlton, Bristol City etc etc.. Lets get behind the new guy who ever he is and support him and the board to take the club to the next level.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - SHOCKED ON LOOKER -

i am shocked to read some peoles posts they need to maybe pay attention to football in general, e.g Davo "roy keane" are you serious the guy signed a lucrative contract with ipswich one of the richest clubs in the champ thanks to the backing. why waste you breath and show how little you know about football. also to all the swans fans who are hating RM at the moment, take a look the guy saved us from the going out of the league as a player and captain and then gets us the the highest league finish in 24 years and best cup run aswell. for that i thank you, we also have a squad of great player worth alot of money how do these compare with other mangers e.g brian flyn brough us karl connoly and lenny jonrose, jackett brought us people like leighton maxwell. so the fact his he has been the best thing to happen to this club in a very long time. OK the guy sold out but the fact is who among us would swap jobs for 5 times our salary if it was a company you had worked for and enjoyed in the past. i am so passionate about football but its also a business and should be run like one swans have 2 million a squad worth 15 mill maybe and we look like were getting gus poyet for free a man who his thought highly of by alot of people, we though martinez had contacts, think again. spurs, west ham chelsea real madrid, and wherever ramos ends up the guy has the making of a good manager, and expect if we get him and he does well we will have 3 mill for him when he goes, thats life thats football

Not a rumour, this is FACT!! Even from all the way up North I can see far more clearly than alot of you guys!! Robert Judas Martinez has said over the last day the "he wished he had been forced out", but notice he didnt say he WAS forced out... If he had even a small disagreement with the board or HJ he WOULD have said he HAD been forced out... Truth is I do think he loved this club, but we were always going to be second best to his tiny club Wigan. They couldnt even sell out the JJB when Man U came! And this was one of their BEST seasons! I am one of the very few TRUE Swans supporters, who used be at the Vetch when there was only 3,500 at the games... The NEW fans that haven't got a clue about the club, it'history, probably don't even remember the petty reign!! Let me tell you, if you get on the backs of this fantastic board, we'll be in serious trouble! And as for the Youth Academy, in principle even if Judas did suggest it works, but look at Southampton guys, they've got one of the biggest academy's there is, and looking at liquidation straight in the face. Spending alot of money has consequences... Love to HJ, keep it up.

You lot criticising the board are not all there, I've seen the club go through administration on two occasions and don't want to again! The word is we agreed to stump up £1.7m for Gomez but couldn't match the £15k per week wages offered by Boro etc. I bet most of you are armchair fans anyway, if you went to matches instead of slagging off HJ, our average crowd would be higher which would have generated the funds for new players. Carlton Palmer was at Liberty for interview with HJ yesterday, please HJ, nooooooooooooo. He was a useless player and would generate no respect from players or fans. Speedo must be the man, the only candidate of the Liberty 6 that gives any rise for optomism. Martinez will be unveiled Monday afternoon along with his musketeers -Dave Whelan WILL now stump up an agreed nominal fee with Swansea for Kevin Reeves & Graham Jones (agreed Friday afternoon), after yesterdays debacle both parties now agreed that delay is helping no one.
Martinez has spent the day at FAW coaching seminar in Aberystwyth after meeting members of the Swansea board last night.
It is still amicable between Martinez and board and the breakdown apparently happened between Wigan CEO and Martinez - The Wigan CEO has been had a bit of an earbashing off Whelan for not dotting the I's and crossing the T's on the contractual arrangments before inviting the media to the press conference.
Martinez was insistant that he met with board of Swansea last night as the protracted talks with Wigan CEO had led to a complete breakdown of communications.
How do i know this - well lets say i'm not Rockey the boat.

Dont give in and stick to your guns huw.if we're to make any sort of impact next year we must keep our best players.i know you said all players have a price. But remember last year. You made a certain player stay and even extend his contract. These players that could go are worth millions when you see what clubs are paying for average players's. Make their value as high as possible to frighten clubs off and make them see their contracts out. Which you should have done with martinez.

I've heard that grahame jones is going to be our new manager. possibly with speed as his assistant. rangel and bodde going to wigan. 5.5 million for rangel. 500k for bodde. the hugely inflated price on rangel is to cover the low price of bodde so we don't loose any money to den haag.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Good luck Martinez - Top Secret

Not Rumour - Fact [all will be told soon].... Martinez wanted new academy and sparkling youth setup to spot, sign and develop young players in the Martinez and Swansea City mould to feed the first team for years to come [like Manchester United], Jenkins said NO. Jenkins and the Swansea board would not sanction transfers directly identified and requested by Martinez which would have developed our team to the next level, Jenkins said NO and requested more of the same cheap imports.

Martinez wanted to stay and develop the club with a long term plan, Jenkins would not stand behind him and not discuss the matter anymore with him. It was Jenkins way or not at all.

This happened in a meeting before Martinez took his weeks break in Spain, he didn't want the holiday but took the time to take a step back from the situation. Whelan at Wigan agreed to everything Jenkins didn't [or wouldn't], it was never about money [the wage increase publicly flaunted was to placate the fans and make the board look better].

Martinez wanted to build a club, a structure for the future around a football philosophy. Good luck.

MARTINEZ TALKS UPDATE
Posted on: Fri 05 Jun 2009

Latest news on talks with Roberto Martinez.

Yesterday afternoon Wigan Athletic's Chief Executive, Brenda Spencer met with Roberto Martinez to begin negotiations about Martinez becoming the new Latics manager.

Brenda Spencer told the official website "Talks were really positive and I am confident that everything will go through.

"As with all these talks there is a lot to go through and agree.

"Roberto and I will continue to keep in touch over the weekend and we hope to announce something early next week"

Received ... 6---0-2009 - james - swansea

BRILLIANT! wigan unable to announce roberto martinez as their new manager as swansea will not sign compensation documents as wigan believed that the compensation would cover the backroom staff as well, so huw jenkins refused to sign and wants more compensation for the background staff!!!

Received ... 6---0-2009 - ieuan ammanford - illl on the couch

i would have really loved to have been able to agree with you guy's who have thanked roberto for what he has done for our club over the last 2 season's , last week i probably could have after all i loved our style of play and boy can martinez make you beleive , but sitting here watching sky sports i see that he dosen't just want to go on his own ,, he wants to tear our backroom staff apart, and i don't think this will be the end of it. i'm willing to bet my house that he'll attempt to take some players, i only met the guy once, and i really belived his speech's about loyalty and building for the future
so NO i don't see how much better our club is after his time with us , he could have left on good terms, but the fact is he hasn't.
i think we all forget what an amazing job has been done by our board , it's taken longer than 2 years to get where we are and thats down to our board , so thank you mr Huw Jenkins , we have faith in you and look forward to next season, long live the Jacks .......

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Dave Thomas - Swansea

There have been continuous rumours regarding the identity of our next Manager (of course, at this point in time Roberto has still not signed for Wigan - still hope !!!) more realistically my Top 5 choices and my 5 Disasters from those already mentioned, are as follows.
1. Roberto Di Matteo - Proven Manager with good connections
2. Alan Curbishley - Experience, needed at this time
3. David Penny - Will continue with our passing game
4. Jamie Rednapp - A gamble as was Roberto Martinez
5. Antonia Tapia - This could be the dark horse, loads of experience with excellent contacts in Spain and if he was appointed maybe our existing Spanish players would be more likely to stay.
Now for my Disasters Peter Nicholas, John Hartson, Paul Ince, Alan Pardue & Paul Tinsdale. However if the usual pattern, presents itself as has been the case since before John Toshack's term the Manager will turn out to be someone who hasn't even been mentioned. Fingers crossed.

It's good to see so many fans of Swansea being so passionate about the Swans. You must appreciate, however, that for the people who are employed by the club, it's just a job.All you can ask of players and managers is that they act professionally and give 100 per cent of their skill and application in return for decent financial rewards.Their real loyalties are to their families and to their careers, careers which can be very short and in which every opportunity to progress must be grasped with both hands.Just be grateful to both the players and the manager for the level of enjoyment they have given us over the last couple of years - the best football since the days of Trevor Morris and that fantastic semi final cup team of 1964. Nobody since, especially Toshack with his highly paid hasbeens, has ever achieved as much or gave such pleasure to fans as the current team led by Martinez. We need to look forward now and recruit another bright new example of managerial talent, to build on the legacy that Martinez leaves behind him. Good luck mate, and I hope we'll soon be up there with you in the Premiership.

This rumour page is mostly full of s***. So many people have been spotted in Morgan's I wonder where's there is room for guests. Of course so many swans supporters frequent Morgan's also on a daily basis! they are bound to see potential managers coming and going on an hourly basis! Just hope that we don't choose a 'young' manager with potential for the sake of it, we have had our fingers burnt before: remember Ian Evans? phil the £1.3 million we were going to pay for gomez wouldent have been enough to keep roberto at swansea. with wigan hes on £1.5 million wages and £2 million just to keep them in the premier.not bad £3.5 million a year wages.huw jenkins did all he could to hang on to him and offered to up his wages to £1 million a year which would have been a swansea record.i also read that roberto is going to have £17 million to spend on players but needs to make cut backs as wigan are millions in debt so lets hope he dont think he can have any of our top players cheap just to make those cut backs.i know huw jenkins wouldent allow that

Roumur has it Wigan will get relegated [with a bit of luck]
look at the facts
richard duffy went to a big club gone downhill
lee trundle great for us where will he play next season went on loan to leeds they sent him back must have done well LOL
andy robinson went to a big club [they were once] for treble his money where he is now on subs bench and in div 1
NONE of them went for the money so they said
Loyalty whats that they dont care do they?
Then comes the big one R M i love swansea,im stayong,im happy here, we have no debt we are going forward my DREAM is to take swansea to the premiership. So why leave us behind Dont tell me;. it must be MONEY .Money talks bullshit walks and all the bullshitters walked Dont get me wrong i would change jobs is someone X5 my wages but after all the talk. we heard it all before if R M stayed then he would be telling the truth and Jordi Cryff saying its not money how much did he get for his interview to say that Ibet huw Jenkins and martin morgan are gutted to be treated this way they put him where he is and he let them down as i said no loyalty £2 million good compensation i think not promotion £30 million do the maths Pressure is on now Roberto you have to stay up and its a BIG task with Swansea there was no pressuse. Wigan might start well but look at Hull last season good start and then just made it Watch out
Roberto it could be you then where would your reputation be If it was going to a BIG club like MAN UTD LIVERPOOL or ARSENAL i would understand and ALL THIS FROM A TURK UP THE SWANS ITS SUNDAY MORN MAYBE THE SPEELING IS OUT A BIT IM RANTING

This is not a rumour it is a fact that throughout the Sporting World promises are made by certain individuals and then that person actually does the exact opposite. I believe that the Swansea City Board of Directors & all Swans supporters should publicly wish Roberto Martinez every success in his new post & then privately hope that Wigan Athletic are relegated this comimg season.
I also believe that Huw Jenkins & fellow Directors should immediately add a new ruling to the Club's Constitution & then make the information generally available to the media.
The new ruling should read "Under no circumstances whatsoever, now or in the future, will Swansea City AFC transfer a player to any other football club managed by Roberto Martinez".

All this talk if roberto having cold feet is rubbish. He just making it look like he doesn't want to go just incase he's sacked and wants a good reception from us fans when he returns or we meet him in premiership!!

I don't know if any of the board will ever read over these pages, but I personally think that we need to bring in someone who will carry on how things as they were before with RM, we need someone young but also has alot of respect in football. I think Jordi Cruyff would be a fantastic choice to bring in. His father basically created the type of football we play "Total Football" he also has played football at the highest level, with Barca and Man u. So he knows how football should be played. He is good friends with RM,(RM is his childrens Godfather) so I'd like to think RM would still like to see us doing well after leaving(and not try to take any of our players)so Id like to think he would suggest Jordi. Jordi has the coaching qualifcaions and is an assistant atm.
Other suggestions that I would like the sound of is Jamie Redknapp, he has said he would like to go into management, and would have some fantastic contacts.
Roberto Di Matteo would also be great- he has done a great job with MK Dons this season, plays the football which he knew how to play himself (just like zola is doing with West Ham)
I think any one of these would be able to take club forward... If you are reading this HUW??

I was in the Maggie Dicks pub and i saw Huw Jenkins talikng to Eddie May.

My Dad knows Huw Jenkins very well and he thinks that huw will go for someone like Gary monk as player manager.

i have also heard that Steve Torpey is up for the job with Linton Brown as his number 2.

tosh has mentioned gary speed to huw jenkins so i read so tosh wont be taking the job.i recon its got to be gary speed as the next manager of swansea city and hes been asked about the job two days on the trot on the welsh news but wont say hes in the running for the job until roberto signs for wigan.

All is agreed with regards to personal terms but Roberto has had a shock re the financial cut backs at Wigan next year. Dave Whelan wants to cut 4 million off the wage bill and they will probably not even be able to afford the Swans players he will want. Hence the reason he wants the weekend to mull it over. Definitely not the right career move.Don't plan for a new manager yet!

KEEP THE FAITH:

Sad to read so many negitive comments about Roberto! - We all need to have a reality check, Roberto's approach from a Premiership club is statement on how far we have come as a club. To my knowledge, I cannot remember ever having compensation for one of our Managers? - Roberto's budget players have added many zero's to the swansea bank balance which contribute to making OUR club stable within these difficult financial times.

Roberto spoke from the heart and I firmly believe he ment everything he said - however his action is one based upon a decision made from his head - he knows his stock value is high at present and he has a worth. If we were not to have such a prolific season next time out - he knows his value would have dropped. Only an idiot would turn his head away from the huge financial security this opportunity represents. Every one of us would snap at the chance to makle our families financially secure!!!

Thank You Roberto for putting our club 'ON The Map'and leaving us with such a talented squad of players and a platform from which to push into the Premiership. We have to 'KEEP THE FAITH' Mr Jenkins and Co have done well for us in securing two rough diamonds in Kenny and Roberto. They will find a suitable replacement and this together with the Wigan £2 million provide much needed financial clout in the transfer market.

We will all meet Roberto again and when the bitterness has gone we will all appreciate his input into our club and thank him when we play Wigan shortly in the Premiership!
KEEP THE FAITH!!!

This isn't a rumour but can I suggest that everyone who bought a RM book drops them off to a collection point and then we send them back to RM as one big drop. We could then ask him to refund the total amount paid for all of these books and put the money into the youth developement. After he has finished stripping this club of it's prized assets, we are going to need all the help we can get.
The man is a liar and we are best rid of him. What concerns me is what are we going to have left. Huw Jenkins needs to protect this club and show he really cares.

Paul Raynor spotted in Morgans. His managerial style is said to be similar to his playing style - push the ball into space for other players to "run onto to". Shame none of his team mates were on the same wavelength. Seriously though,
RM was a one-off. He had a degree in physiotherapy, spoke a few languages, unbelievable knowledge of the Spanish game, loads of contacts, the players respected him, he knew them inside out - what made them tick.
Anyone who has half a brain surely must realise that he is in a different league to LT, Hartson, Cookie and all the other names that are getting thrown around. I also saw Falkirk playing last season and it was the worst game of head tennis I have ever seen. Don't beleive the hype!
I reckon we go and nick a good young up and coming manager from a club in Spain. Maybe RM could recommend someone. Keep Greame too. He knows how the Swans train and if it aint broke, dont fix it. We need continuity.

How canh you guys slag off Martinez?? Just goes to show how little some of you know about football. Disgusting behaviour towards one of the legends of Swansea City. You have short memories.
As for Trundle becoming manager, well, that just goes to prove my above point. It's ok for him to come back after he left us then, is it? Talk about double standards.
Good luck Roberto.

Very very disappointing...

Like many others i thought Roberto was different, i read his book and believed it when he said:

"They had to kick me out as a player and they'll have to kick me out as a manager"

If it was a passing comment i could forgive it, but he put it down in black and white in his own book...

if only his heart was as black and white as the words he wrote there, we'd still be chanting for him at the liberty...

Received ... 6---0-2009 - james - swansea

Why would we want steve coppell who couldn't get reading back to the premiership, John toshack who hasn't changed wales's fortunes as of yet or chris coleman who did nothing with coventry.
We need a manager who will keep the team of players we have together and continue the good brand of football we play going!
If we can get graham jones to stay on as manager that maybe a good move, but how about a manager from further afield mabye Lillo from Real sociedad he has just left them and he was the youngest manager ever to grace La liga. but we do need someone quick to stop any poteintial exodus of players from swansea to wigan after martinez, just have a feeling that huw jenkins won't be letting anyone go easily or cheaply, and wigan don't have that much money!

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Ben - house

what happend to the love and loyalty roberto said he had for the swans? but nowadays football is all about the money isnt it? he said he would have to be forced out of swansea to leave the club and noone forced him anywhere. he left the club because of money. my opinion is that we are a much better side than wigan and now that the greedy one has gone we will have a better manager than them. adios amigo!!! maybe steve coppel next manager?

Your totally correct, what 5 year plan? I been ranting on about loyalty prevailing but i knew it wouldn't. There's no such thing as loyalty in football any more. RM might be a good manager but like he said about his players when Jordi Gomez was gonna go somewhere else "they wouldn't fit in to the style of play [at another club]" so could Martinez find he has made a mistake as well taking on more pressure at a premiership side who expect a mid-table finish you never know.

It's business not football.

"I want to be in the premier league with Swansea."
"My contract is 5 years and i intend to see it out."
"I love Swansea"

All believed, all forgotten.

I speak for everyone when i say i feel disappointed about roberto leaving. I can't understand it. He loves to play attacking football and he can on the liberty surface (voted the best in the championship last year). He can't play that style at jjb! It's the worst pitch in the premier league cos wigan is rugby country! Roberto's weak point has always been down back! I can see some 5-0....6-0....7-0 beatings at the hands of man U, chels n co! As for the replacement... Need another rookie coach- install some energy and excitement into the up coming season!!! Now the sale of the gaffer is the highest paid transfer in swansea history.. This has probably been repeated further down but i have just got home from work and have frantically fired up the internet and put on skysports news to find out what has happened since 3 o\'clock this afternoon.

I think it is fair to say that Roberto has gone, the decision by him has shocked me and although i do not think i am a naive person, i always thought roberto was different to the stereotypical money grabber player/manager that has infected this great game.

i understand totally why he has gone, but what grates on me is the forever spouting by RM on loyalty, commitment and his 5-year plan. Never have i felt so angry and let down at a player or manager leaving. Roberto is genuinely a nice guy but the way this has been handled by him is disgraceful. He has shown a lack of respect towards the fans.

I fully appreciate the job he\'s done and he\'s left us in a great position, but i can\'t help but feel that his actions over the last couple of days will tarnish his reputation at this club. i personally wouldn\'t mind seeing Roberto Di Matteo or Gus Poyet as the new gaffer. To the future.....

If Roberto goes good luck to him and thank you, you will always be in our hearts. All this is still paper talk, Roberto has not yet left. If Roberto is true to his word, he will stay. Wigan is a rugby leauge town, small support considering its in the premiership, and with no real prospect of becoming one of the premierships elite, thats why Steve Bruce left them in the lurch, to join world beaters Sunderland !!!!!! Swansea City despite being a division lower will always be a far bigger prospect than Wigan F.C. Yes they have made wonders since the non-leauge days at springfield park, But they will always be second best to Swansea City f.c. Roberto if you go, you can do better.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - John -

The only word that comes to mind over Martinez is hypocrite. He bangs on about there is no loyalty in football... martinez is the perfect example. Swans took a gamble in putting him in charge and this is how he repays us. Heard that he intends to take half the backroom staff with him. Players will follow. Williams will be first if Bramble moves in. All is not lost, he has left us with some quality players and better club. Graeme Jones for manager, if not, how about Gary Speed?

Received ... 6---0-2009 - paul -

i think grame jones will go with roberto.sanders havent done great at wrexham dont know if tosh would fancy it with the wales job aswell. i think chris coleman would fancy it being a local lad but we would have to pay a fee for him i also read that gary speed is interested.also read roberto might be taking a couple of players with him.we need a manager with contacts who can bring new faces in.

Gary Speed is at the end of his career, has gone into coaching and spoke very highly of the swans at the end of last season. What better candidate? I think roberto has ultimately proven that there is no loyalty in football.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - chris - swansea

roberto, you have lost all credibility from swans fans! so much for the 5year plan and how loyal you would be to the club and they would basically have to carry you out of the club, then 1st job offer and you are off with your sombrero up to sunny wigan??? go from a up and coming club with a good fan base to a club where they prefer rugby league to football!!! fans went on and on how robbo and trund left for the money and now our managers doing exactly the same! i for 1 wouldnt believe another word you say as you have seemed to say all the words the fans wanted to hear and not followed them through and for that you will never be a jack legend! be interesting to see what season ticket sales are like! come on huw jenks we know you love the swans, lets find a unpolished diamond and march on without roberto.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - dai west wales - Cardigan

Why go for Toshack, Flynn, Saunders or Coleman? All second or third class acts. They may give loyalty, only because no-one else would want them. Swansea are now on the up in a big way, so don't go backwards for goodness sake, with hasbeens who just happen to be Welsh. Swansea need an inspirational manager, if only for a few years, it doesn't matter, as they will then be in a position to attract bigger name players and eventually have their pick of managerial talent. Don't go for duffers, please.

Although losing RM is a disaster!!!! It can get far worse...I hear hes coming for the family jewels too messers Williams, Bodde and Rangel. These players are quality will no affiliation to the Swans. One wiff of an offer of Premiership football from RM..."Next stop Wigan please drive!!!".

So much for a man of his word and morales: RM 2006 "You will have to fire me to get me out of this club!!!" what he forgot to add was maybe the lure of 30k a week from a boring unsupported club might help. I hope hes not going to be another addition to the I WISH I HAD NOT LEFT SWANSEA (Trundle 2006, Robinson 2007)

Time will tell..this will all come out in the wash!!!!!!!

The only good thing about Wigan is the pies! Get a grip Roberto! Swansea and Wigan will swap places next year mun!

By the way - Teesside Jack....where do you live? I am in Boro. A few tasty local games for us next year at the Riverside and St James' Park.

Would be good to meet up for a few beers if you fancy it.

Everyone stop freting! Martinez didnt get us promotion last season. He didnt achieve anyhting because we have won nothing. Ok we may have stayed in the chsampionship but we expected more. I believe that the swansea board will bring in an even better manager with the experience to take us all the way. If you think bout it look at the second half of the season more so towards the end. Swansea were shite. He couldnt hack it. He has taken the easy route to the premiership. I wish him all the best for the future and hope that he will not regret what he has done when he truly realises the gem of a club he has parted company with. Berto see you in 2010/11 season if you are still there that is.

Just a thought. Wouldn't wigan be better off taking a punt on Stevie Coppell? Roberto making a massive error joining a prem team, they will struggle and he'll lose his job, i'm convinced of this. So could be a blessing in disguise if we end up getting stevie coppell!! 'STEVIE COPPELL'S BLACK AND WHITE ARMY'! Sounds good to me ;)

Martinez off to wigan. Agreed last night. 2 million compo to Swans. 3 or 4 players going to Wigan for around 3 million. Midfield players mentioned. According to spanish critic on Sky Sports News Martinez been looking at players for Swans and not on Holiday this week. Maybe he is trying to leave the club with a chance next year? Perhaps thats why Anderson has not signed for us yet. He is prob off to wigan too.

just on sky sports, swansea and wigan agreed a compensation fee for Martinez. Martinez is wigans first choice, it looks like unfortunately he may be going. He said he had a five year plan for swansea and it looks like he is leaving after the first. Very disappointed by him, he said he values above all loyalty to a club and it doesn't seem that he is at all loyal himself.

Tony Mowbray joining Celtic and Wigan are not prepared to pay the amount of compensation for Martinez that Huw Jenkins asks for.

Martinez got four years left on his contract and will be with us for a good while.

So stuff Chris Coleman or Steve Coppell.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - rhys -

The Scottish newspaper had quotes that Martinez told them:

'Managing Celtic is one of the top jobs in European football,'

'Any young aspiring manager with ambition would be interested in a job like that.

'It gives you the chance of being involved in Champions League football and the opportunity of silverware every season.''

These quotes appear to have been made up as the Spaniard sent a text message to the Evening Post to make aware that he hasn't spoken to any press while he's been away in Ibiza.

He also told BBC Sport briefly:

"The quotes are false, I didn't speak with anyone.

"The only person who can speak about the situation is my chairman."

The 35 year-old returns home today and will have talks with chairman Huw Jenkins regarding his future with the club.

Received ... 6---0-2009 - Rich - Birmingham

Guys, Swansea is a great club and he has done well this season.

I know somebody connected to Celtic & they sent people down to watch a couple of your players and Martinez got there attention since your great performances against premiere clubs in the FA Cup..

I hope he stays at Swansea as he would ruin Celtic and take them backwards.( The majority of the Jocks don't wany him )

He needs to keep on the good work and keep to his promises of getting you in the play offs next year.!!! but he will need a better squad than what you have got now and you have to complete with some big clubs , big gates big revenue , and be able to adopt to change tactics as you are the draw specialists and need to kill off games.

Also I watched Coventry a lot this season and belive me you don't want Coleman...you will be lucky to survive if you get him, as he has messed up a good squad of players up here.

Also rumour is that he does not get on with the Chairman ( Ray Ranson ) , so he would snap up comming back to the Swans...

Good luck. Next Year you were credit to the championship this season.. over and out until I get the next rumour.

Roberto to Celtic is very interesting indeed. I am a Falkirk based Jack and know that the Bairns Manager is none other than John Yogi Hughes, former Swansea striker in the early 90's who is desperate for a crack at the Championship after seeing his pal Owen Coyle doing so well at Burnley. Mixed feelings about this as not a huge fan of Hughes to be honest although nearly brought home the Scottish Cup on Saturday when we completely outlplayed the Rangers but couldn't translate all our excellent outfield play into goals.

I've heard a lot of people are starting rumours for the sake of it. I firmly believe Roberto will stay. He is a man of principle and wants to finish a job he started. I say the rumour should be is that Roberto is staying and we all get behind him and the club and fend off other clubs. Maybe Mr. Martinez should remember what happened with some of our other "stars", Robinson & Trundle. The rumours there were true. They left, but I bet they wish they hadn't. In short stop fuelling the fire guys and start a rumour with a bit of substance. Roberto stay and finish what you truly belive is possible. The Swans a top 10 Premier league club.

John toshack will be the next swansea manager .

ALL WE HAVE TO HOPE FOR is that roberto manchini goes to Sunderland and then it won't have the knock on effect.

I hope our wonderful manager will stay . I think that roberto is the type of guy who likes football more than the money involved . If the man is Reading this then I hope he loves the swans more than money .

What a load of rubbish you have just said then.

I think the only premiership club that would tempt Scotland away is Fulham because I'am sure he can get in the team, he could score goals there, they don't play bad football and they just qualified for Europe so he would probably consider it but other than that the only Premiership club that Scotland could guarentee first team football is more likely going to be a struggling near the relegation zone all season so he be better off at the Swans as we do have a good chance for the top six next season.

artur kysiak has been officialy released by birmingham, and is willing to sign as a second choice keeper for a championship side ,, he gave little hint he'd like to return in an interveiw with sky sports,,,here's what he said ..... "i even went to motherwell when i could have stayed at swansea.
i proved at swansea that i have the ability to play top level football even tho i'm still young for a goal keeper
i want to kick on and choose the right club.at least there is no compensation to pay so hopefully i can go somewhere where i can be in with a shout for first team football.
i am happy to provide initial cover at championship club as i am only young . alternativly i am ready to fight to be first choice for a league one club."

Hi guys, RM keeping tabs on Mallo (GK) at Falkirk (SPL) so i have too. Seems a quality keeper. Lets just hope nobody else is keeping tabs on him too.

Received ... 5---0-2009 - Jamie Hooper - The Train

This is not really a rumor but Antonio Barragan, a young (21) ex-liverpool center back/right back hasn't had his contract at espanyol renewed, I believe he was quite highly thought of out in spain capped at quite a few youth levels for spain, including U21s, which makes me wonder why he's been released. Maybe another talented import?
I have heard that we may be looking at another left winger, Ilie Iordache, an out of contract romanian. Apparently a bit of a showboater with a mean free kick, capped twice at senior level. He is/was considered one of Romania's talents.

Received ... 5---0-2009 - Sam - Swansea

Gomez might not be staying with swans after espanyol will be looking for the highest bidder and higher clubs than swansea are interested.

Dobbie deal to be finalised

Dyer deal moving ever closer to be finalised

Catalonia Today are reporting that Roberto is interested in signing Noemi Rubio who has just been released from Espanyol over here.

Liverpool have accepted the swans deal for anderson, its just up to anderson when he gets back off of his holiday to decide whether the conditions are right.

Leroy lita? not worth a penny and martinez would not want him.

scotland is staying and not off to middlesborough.

Gomez is staying also as is pintado.
As for dennis lawrence, best wishes with your new club and thanks for the service. He is a good player but not good enough for swansea's passing style, he is a traditional long ball defender and he does that well.

Heard that Semih Kaya is possibly coming in on loan next season from Galatasaray. A very highly rated commanding center back who has shown maturity beyond his age having started 3 times last season making his debut at the tender age of 16 (now 17). Should be a great addition to the squad, though I doubt Roberto will risk loaning a 17 year old.

Will people stop going on about Leroy Lita.

Maritnez will never sign him because he appears to have a big gob on him.

Scotland has hinted he might leave but until anything happens we don't need a new striker as we got Scotland, Bauza, Pintado with a new addition like Dobbie and we only play one up front lets not forget.

We need another centre half to challenge Monk and Williams because if one of those two gets injured particularly Monk with his leadership then Serran just doens't really have the physical presense for a centre half.

Kevin Phillips?
No way because he is finished.

Received ... 5---0-2009 - Robert - Jack Army HQ

(Forest fan down below)

Liverpool have actually accepted our bid but I'am sure Forest will throw silly money for him and it is still up to Anderson of course.

Last summer as it was only a loan signing and was a choice between us and Forest.

Benitez said it was up to Anderson and the speedy winger regretably chose Forest who spent all season near foot of the table and only got to the championship in the first place because Doncaster couldn't win at Cheltnham on last day of 2007-2008 season.

While the Swans were not far off the play offs in our first season in the 2nd tier in 24 years with barely any experience at Championship level.

Now that we have shown an interest to re sign him and as our style of play is so much better than mediaocre money spending Forest then I'am sure Anderson will make the right decision.

If he doesn't then its his loss if he wants to spend another season near the foot of the championship just for a bigger pay day over a brilliant manager like Martinez, better players to work with and european style football.

I knew Forest would struggle this season even if the bookies thought throwing money to get average players like Joe Garner would bring you back to the Premiership which turned out to be a joke.

These so called english experts thought the Swans were going to struggle more than Forest and Donny but didn't we prove you wrong.

Come on Anderson you know it makes sense.

Heard on the QT that Birmingham are of the same opinion as West Brom last season and don't think that Kevin Phillips has was it takes in the Premier League.

A friend of a friend who's a Director at the club said that Phillips was most complimentary about our set-up after we played them in November and Roberto is known to highly rate his Championship pedigree, especially after his 2 goals won that game at The Liberty. This would pave the way for a £2+ million pound transfer for Jason Scotland and the best of it is we'd get Phillips for free, leaving more in the kitty to strenghten other areas.

This one has definitely got legs - watch this sapce!

News today that Birmingham have released Artur KRYSIAK as well as Radi Jaidi. Possibility of Artur returning seeing as it appears we are on the lookout for 2 keepers. Also Reading have released keeper Hahnemann, Graeme Murty, Michael Duberry and Leroy Lita. Some great players being released this summer and although wages would be a big issue Hahnemann, Duberry and Lita (especially if Scotland is on his way) would be great additions to our squad

Received ... 5---0-2009 - Jim - Swansea

Swansea are set to complete the transfers of Marcus Hahnemann and Leroy Lita after they were released by Reading. Roberto wants somebody with speed to play off Scotland or Dobbie and want Hahnemann to replace De Vries for a year or two, he has loads of experience and will act as #1 to Colin Doyle of Birmingham.

Received ... 5---0-2009 - James - Rhoose

The Dyer Deal has collapsed, but Roberto is looking to sign an an incredible winger named Anders Vasquez of FC Zurich and Paul Anderson, Gower will remain at the club and has requested a new shirt number after his disappointing lack of goals. A two year deal is being negotiated with Orlandi and Tom Butler looks set to sign for Barnsley or Blackpool for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £100,000. The wings will look pretty good with a choice of two of Vasquez, Anderson, Orlandi and a revitalized Gower, I'm liking my lips in anticipation, I can't wait!

This Is Not A Rumour But I Reckon We Should Buy Anderson and Dyer As We Both Know They Are Keen To Score Goals... Dont Get Me Wrong Gower Has Been An Inspiration And Exciting In The Way He Plays But I Think We Need To Have A Change On The Wide Side. We Should Sell Gower And Butler And Get Anderson and Dyer As We Are Aware Of Them Gettin Goals And Creatin Good Oppotunities. We Need Two New Goal Keepers As We Just Lost Dorus After A Really Stupid Agreement Wasnt Made By Both Parties So I Reckon We Should Go In For Kasper Schmeical And Nicky Weaver As Cover.. we Need Two New Centre Backs And A Right Back And Left Back And Maybe A Centre Mid And Maybe A New Striker Aswell Even Tho We Got Dobbie What If Scotland Gets Injured So Why Dont We Get Cover And By A Cheap Youngster as Martinez Is Good At Play - Offs Or Higher Is Expected This Season And I Hope We Dont Do A Bristol And Do Shit In The 2nd Season To The Championship ! ! !

As Wales on Saturday is an appalling sports programme, can I urge everyone not to sign the petition. Nobody cares about the WPL and their coverage of the Swans (and cardiff, Wrexham etc) is dreadful. Thank goodness for digital TV as I can tune into one of the other regions on Saturdays when the Swans are playing away. Scotland and Ireland are keeping their programmes as they afford good coverage to their 'proper' clubs.
Anyway, back to rumours, I have heard that there is a strong possibility of us signing Jordi Gomez in the next couple of weeks, apparently Espanol are close agreeing a fee believed to be £1m plus add ons and a sell on clause.

i know it's not a rumour but i urge everyone to sign this petition to save Wales on Saturday show!
Wales on Saturday is being axed. BBC have the rights to football league so it could show the goals and be the first to show them from away game, also it's the 1st place to get WPL results, it's going to cause a fair bit of grief. Here in Wales we'll have to suffer final score from London. Only here has the regional programme been axed by the BBC. Scotland & N. Ireland will retain theirs. There's now a petition online against the programme being ditched. I urge everyone to sign it.

NAKOR IS AN AMAZING PLAYER!!
HE WILL SIGN A CONTRACT WITH SWANSEA VERY SOON AND REPLACE JASE WHO HAS APPARENTLY AGREED A DEAL WITH FULHAM (NO IDEA HOW MUCH BUT I WOULD GUESE 3MILLION, GOOD LUCK TO HIM)!!! HE WAS WATCHING TODAY AND I HOPE WE HAVEN'T PUT HIM OFF AS HE WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO THE SQUAD. AND YES HE IS AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER ASWEL AS A CRACKING STRIKER, IMAGINE JASE WITH MORE ARIAL PROWESS AND A BETTER WORK RATE. THIS LAD WOULD BE A SWANS LEGEND AND ECLIPSE THE LIKES OF TRUNS AND ROBBO (BUT THEN AGAIN I SAID SOMETHING SIMILAR ABOUT EL TORO AND THAT DIDN'T QUITE WORK OUT.
SWANS HAVE ALSO BEEN LINKED TO A BARCE LAD, A PACEY WINGER, NOW I'M NOT TO SURE WHO BUT IT WOULD PROBABLY BE PEDRO OR VAZQUEZ WHO ARE BOTH GREAT PLAYERS.
OTHER THAN THESE TWO EXPECT NO MORE SPANISH IMPORTS.
ALEX BRUCE WILL NOT SIGN FOR US, HE'S OFF TO JOIN HIS DADDY AT WIGAN.

If all of these rumors are true we are in for a pretty exciting season now aren't we? If any of Rose, Petrucci (who is not to young for a loan) or Bryan come in were in for a treat. + Who's this Nakor guy, I'm like football mad and I've never heard of him, another Martinez Jem? A mate of mine is playing for youth and he claims to have seen quite a few people being shown around the Liberty, it seems Swansea is a very desirable place, some of these people included a massive african guy (he thought it may have been Sidibe but I doubt that), 2 unidentefied Spaiards (possibaly Nakor and another) and Alex Bruce.

Swansea want to sign Nakor from Ejido, he's a striker wholl replace Jason who will be going to Blackburn for 3 million. Nakor is strong, he can score a lot of goals, and he is also quite skillfull. Will sign possibaly in a swap deal for Bussy.
They also want Danny Rose from tottenham on loan, he plays left midfeild. if they cant get him they wand johnston of boro.
Another player Martinez will sign is alex Bruce as Roy Keane doesn't like him and wants to sell him in the summer.
They also want to sign McCarthey from Hamilton (young CM).
A deal has been agreed for Dobbie.

Received ... 5---0-2009 - James Richardson - Aberystwyth

- It'll be interesting to see what happens to Pennock. I agree that the Llanelli game was pretty awful, but the youngsters seem to be developing well, it would be a shame to see him go.

- Isn't that Nakor fellow an attacking midfielder rather than a striker? He is considered a very good player in the spanish lower leagues so I wouldn't rule it out but with him pushing 30, the number of very talented young midfielders at the club and with Dobbie apparently a certainty I doubt it. Though perhaps he will replace Jordi who I am resigned to lose, I wouldn't mind seeing Nakor in a Swans shirt but he's no Jordi Gomez.

- Davide Petrucci is a class act! And though some first team experience would be useful, i doubt Ferguson would let him go as he is so young and new to the UK. Also I expect to see him feature for Man U next year. But I would LOVE to see him in a Swans shirt.

-One rumor I have heard though is that Swansea are in for Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur. Rose is a promising young winger with bags of pace and an eye for goal. Though i did overhear this rumor at the pub so again I doubt there is any truth in it.

- Dyer will sign for 700k (just to give you something I actually believe) :D.

I have heard on the grape vine that, Tony Pennock head of youth will be replaced next season.!!! 3rds in a weak Puma Alliance league ,nocked out in early stages of the Puma Cup , FA Youth cup.

I hope so as wasted £5 last night to see our youth get outplayed by Llanelli (they were excellent ) , if I was the gaffa I would look at some of the lads there, as they showed more guts and character than the Swans starting 11. Also we (Swans looked) Tacticaly out gunned.

Pennock made no changes at half time and brought on a pacey lad & a big lad on too late in the second half for them to make a diffrence.

Any way rummmor Pennock gone !!! who will be the relacement you guys heard anything out there..??? as we need to get decent youth comming through. Joe Allen is the only decent one in years.!! point made.

Current financial problems with the council and the Ospreys mean that the Swans have been offered the chance to buy the Liberty outright with rights to expand it as they see fit.

Received ... 5---0-2009 - Leicester Swan - Leicester

Espanyol have said in the Barcelona football press Swansea asked for a price for Gomez and were quoted 1.5M Euro\'s not pounds but it is dependant on other offers coming in.

It also said what was plainly obvious that they would be reluctant to sell if they go down as he would fit into their plans to try and bounce straight back up.

Received ... 5---0-2009 - Dan Richards - Exeter

Swansea look to be signing striker Nakor Bueno Gomez of Polideportivo Ejido, he's out of contract at the end of the season and therefore will be available on a free.
If Rangel does in fact go to one of the many clubs to which he is linked Swansea will attempt to sign right back Juan Ceballos of Cordoba, the player is quite highly rated in the Segunda therefore we may see a 500,000+ bid placed in the summer.
Martinez will also apparently be looking to sign either Fran Merida of Arsenal or Victor Vazquez of Barcelona, both of whom are left midfielders.

Hey it is a fact that neither javier alonso nor andre arshavin are joining swansea. My god thats the first fact I have seen on this page.

I have rarely seen facts from here actually materialise with the notable odd exception,

I petition for this page to be removed from this great site immediatly and instead why not have more links directly with the swans scouts, martinez and jenkins.

Martinez is not leaving the swans. He has a long term plan with swansea which is why the local youth teams have been asked to play the same formation as the swans.

As for bodde, he is a star and what happened between him and derby was completley misrepresented in the media, thankyou martinez and jenkins for provding bodde with the support that you have done so.

A release clause in his contract will mean that Millwall captain Paul Robinson will sign for £350,000 if they don't get promotion.

Fulham have made enquiries about the cost Britton, Pratley and Gower.

Gower played well in both legs against them while he has had Pratley watched since and believes swansea players would fit into the system which Fulham are establishing and at reasonable cost. Players such as Rangel & Scotland are also in the frame for a promotion with the London club.

Even if Fulham achieve European football through 7th spot, Hodgson knows that a massive transfer fund will not be available as he looks to develop the club on a relative budget compared to other premier league sides and he sees Swansea as a decent farm club for the kind of player he is looking for.

Gomez is on loan to us only, Celtic would be talking to Espanyol, not to us. The only reason for them to be talking to us about him was if they intended to buy him and loan him out to us but I can't see that ebing the case.

I was sat next to a Rangers scout at Saturday's game at The Liberty. Although he wouldn't disclose who he was there to watch- I caught a glimpse of his notes and saw Scotland's name on more than one occasion!

Thinking about it, JS is in a very similar mould to their ex-striker Jean Claude Darcheville, who had a successful spell at Ibrox.

FACT!

Sat next to a Scots guy on Saturday with his colleague from Newport area, who said that they'd travelled down to look at Joe Allen, on behalf of Dundee United. Had a good chat with one of them who enthused about the Swansea back four particularly Ashley williams who the guy said should be a premiership player in the next year.
He said that we were the best Championship side he'd seen this season and that was having watched us 4 times out of over 100 Premier and Championship games he'd seen so far this season.

Don't know where all these rumours about Leon splitting up with his missus are coming from either, cos I saw both of them coming out of the Hungry Horse in Dunvant the other night + they looked very happy. Someone's scare-mongering methinks?

And my mate who waits on at Morgan's also said that Mark Viduka was there yesterday, although he didn't see any Swans officials.

And from a guaranteed source, we are definitely gonna tie up the permanent signings of Dyer + Gomez before the loan cut-off point in March - FACT.

Ieun is right what he said. The word on the street is that Leon stayed because of Pratley's injury and because of promises that have been made to him. He'll be off at the end of the season, to Wolves whether they are promoted or not - FACT. And Wolves are a much bigger team than us, bigger stadium which they regularly fill with a larger hard core support.I don't think Ieun was disparaging, in fact I agree with what he says, have another read of it.

Received ... 2---0-2009 - scott - swansea

Your all dull o what.
Leon Britton would never leave the Swans unless it was a chance to play for a big perimer league team not Wolves as i and alot of people think that we are a better team than wolves.
With Pratley if a good offer come in we might concider it but i dont want this to happen and Pratleys injured and theres 2 hours left in transfer market so i dont think Wolves are going to oput a bid in and plus swansea will not want to leave leon go, so in 2 hours leon will still be a SWANSEA CITY PLAYER.

RANGEL GOING TO WIGAN. FACT!

Received ... 2---0-2009 - Jay - Killay

Ieuan from Port Talbot - you seem to be singling me out for suggesting that Leon wouldn't move to Wolves as if I'm making some ridiculous point. Granted I could see him leaving if he was going to better himself, but the prospect of Wolves is harldy gonna set the world on fire (a stadium not much bigger than hours, a manager who likes to play hoofball + the possibility of one season's struggle in the Premier League).

You even class the Swans as a mid-table Championship team next season which I think is wholly disparaging towards RM. He has built a team of which we haven't seen the likes of in 30 years + has got us playing football that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and still you are not happy. Either you have not been to the Liberty regularly enough this season or you clearly know nothing about football.

*Sigh* Apologies for the confusion, but that was not me saying that. The first half of my post was a copy of what Jay from Killay posted, it is he that claims that Leon would never move to wolves.

Tom Huddlestone from Spurs will join us on loan for a couple of weeks as he isn't getting a run in the Spurs side under Redknapp. Likely to come down as cover for midfield.

Huddlestone is believed by the management to be the type of player that has the quality to play the football that Roberto coaches and would sit nicely in the midfield allowing Britton the free role in the middle and Gomez playing the link role to Scotland.

Received ... 1---0-2009 - Ieuan - Port Talbot

Bill from Townhill - you're an absolute muppet! For starters Pratley + Leon wouldn't entertain moving to Wolves + even if they did it would be for far more than the derisory £2.5 million that you have stated. And you must've had a frontal labotomy if you think that Rangel or Allen would go to Dundee Utd!

This is a serious rumours page, which could do without idiots like you sullying it with you farcical lies!

Heard on the QT that we're trying to iron out a 300K move for Dyer and a 750K move for Gomez before the transfer window closes. And Macdonald will be joining Wrexham on loan until the end of the season.

-------------

Jay - Killay - How ridiculous do you sound.

1) Wolves are a bigger club than us would be in the premiership if they are right, of course they would go if the offer is good enough.

2) How is £2.5m for Britton and Pratley derisory yet you think that £1m combined for Dyer and Gomez is perfectly fine?

3) Rangel or Allen could go to Dundee United, they are 3rd in Scotland and will almost certainly be playing in Europe next season, that's a pretty big incentive. Although I expect Rangel to move onto a premiership team and allen to stay put for a couple of years personally, neither would be a stupid move.

4) MacDonald HAS JOINED Yeovil, so will NOT be playing for Wrexham this year.

So not only have you reported a rumour after it can not possibly come true but like so many other of the 'special case' people on this board you have a vastley overinflated idea of just what our club is and how much out players are worth.

Why do you seem to think that players would turn down moves to premiership teams or teams with guarenteed European campaigns next season for what is still likely a mid-table Championship side?

Received ... 1---0-2009 - Ben - Waun Wen

Nathan Dyer will NOT be signing permantly, the club has received three bids from Premiership teams one of which I know for a fact is Middlesborough they have offered a six figure sum and even offered Adam Johnson in exchange for a season long loan! I do think his prefered choice would be Swansea but you would need to lodge a bid before 5pm on 1/2/08 and it must be in the region of £400,000!!

Good luck for the season lads, well after this weekend of course!!

P.S Well done Saturday great result!!

Had a good few drink with a Pompey Scout last Saturday evening after the game.I knew him from doing my coaching badges.

He said he\'d heard on the scouting network that Wolves were trying to buy Leon Britton and Darren Pratley in a deal that would be worth £2.5m if Wolves get promoted.

He also said that there were scouts from 6 Premier League, 2 Championship sides as well as a SPL team (Dundee Utd he thinks) at the game on Saturday who between them all were watching just 2 players - Allen and Rangel - 100% FACTS.

Martinez will not sign a new striker as we play 4-5-1.

According to a Spaniard I was working with over Christmas who's a Spanish football nut, we're interested in getting Pedro on loan from Barca!

It was reported in Marca's rumours column. He admitted that it was about as reliable as our tabloid rumour columns.

I've seen Pedro play once or twice and the boy's a rough diamond. He's an exciting left-wing/striker. His skill level is amazing, but his final ball is a bit poor at times.

No such interest has been speculated!

However there will be a move made in Martinez in the next couple of weeks. I can't mention my sources but it is a great offer that will be hard to turn down.

They haven't approached him yet but very good sources point to it!

Lets hope he'll stay but I personally can't see it! Gutted!!!

Received ... 1---0-2009 - Dale Jones - Swansea

Heard of a friend of mine that lives in Carlisle that Danny Graham has request a transfer, both Swansea and Norwich looking at him would command a £300k fee but apparantly Carlisle are interested in Owain Tudur Jones so possibly a swap or some kind of loan incentive?

Another striker on his way is Lincoln City striker, excuse the spelling Adrain Petulina? He is a Romanian forward he will join on 23rd January for £150k

Simeon Jackson and Jamie Ward were high on RM list but apparantly both have stated that they did not want to move to Wales - Shame on them!

Dimi Konstatopolus will sign permantly unsure where, Herenveen apparently interested in De Vries although I think that would be a backward step.

Orlandi returning to Spain with Eibar and Salamanca intersted, he would leave for a nominal fee if anything.

Lloyd Dyer of Leicester City is also a target after his falling out with Nigel Pearson, Swans would only offer him a loan deal as he seems to have the same sort of personality as Leon Knight so a long contract maybe a little too riskey.

In defence an un-names premiership team my sources say they are in midlands so maybe WBA or even Villa have shown a little interest in Ashley Williams but I cant see that going through anytime soon, one defender on his way out tho is Albert Sarran will move on loan to Gimanastic of Spain. Coming in to defence RM has a few targets, Dean Lewington is NOT one of them!! Craig Morgan of Peterborough is a top target but they would like to get over £400k wich is not the £200k offer Swans are preparing but some sort of agreement could be put in place. On the left back position Fede Bessone's recovery from injury means a loan signing will be made, George Friend of Wolves is top target.

It seems like RM will be busy, although these deals should take place one or two might not for unforsen circumstances.

its not rocket science we NEED a proven goalscorer as simple as that, i for one are not prepaired to pay £20-60 to watch a game end in a draw every week and there are thosands like me who just wont turn up in the end, consoladation or not those bottom sides only need a run of 3 wins were are we then very close to relagation,in a table this tight it can happen fast, even though we are the best footballing team we still need to finish teams off

-----------

Utterly bloody disgraceful. Paul you need to go take a good long look at yourself in the mirror mate, you see that guy staring back, he is the worst kind of glory hunting, fair weather supporter that there is.

In this very decade we wee within a single bad result of going out of the legue and hours away from going out of business. We nw sit in the Championship. Hell is we lose every game from nw until the end of the season we would still be a million miles better off than at any other point since the early 80's.

I point this out becaue you probably have no idea about the history of the club or even really give a rats arse about it. If you did and you can still mke those comments then that is worse because it just shows you for an ungrateful and selfish waste of space.

I tell you what mate, if you can't stick with your club hen they are at their best position in 20-odd years, that being closer to the playoff places than relegation just beause the have a record of eight points from eight games (would it be the same if the record was LWLDLDLW? Of course bloody not for you) then frankly neither us nor the club want to see your sorry face anyway. Push off and find a passtime that fits in with the modorn ethos of PC 'Eveyrbody win' because you obviously can not take the pressure of real competition.

I would rather see the Liberty with 10,000 real fns tan 25,000 people like you.

For some people to say if we don't get a striker or continue to draw I won't bother going to watch the swans is an absolute disgrace.

I don't know about anyone else but I don't support Swanseas City for the success. That's a bonus. I support the Swanse because I love them and that's regardless whether they are top of the Premiership or bottom of League 2!!

Received ... 1---0-2009 - richard - swansea

I also agree with paul. Lets be grateful swansea are in the position they are. We are doing well. So we havent was as many as we could have but what good would it do to go up and then come back down. Martinez has 10 year plan for the club and couple years for premiership so lets top moaning and support our club every time. God we were nearly extinct a few years ago.

We need true fans not glory hunters
